me: hey lincoln, what are you doing?
lincoln: I'm feeding my baby turtle.

Yesterday we made it out to Slate Run Historical Farm for a fun and quick trip to check out all the spring babies and had so much fun. What was our favorite part of the trip:
Booker: Cutting the corn stuff off and making cornmeal.
Lincoln: turning the wheel to make cornmeal.
apparently we really liked the corn station.
Kiki: i really loved our scenic drive to the farm, so picturesque, so country-ish, so long,:) and almost like a roller coaster!;)
This break just makes me so greatful to live WHEN I am living!

ahhhh...everytime i look at this picture or one like it, it reminds me:
1- how much i love to play a great game of basketball
2-how fun it has been to live in an area where i have so many friends that play, and are really good.
3-the smell of an old musty gym
4-how much i am going to miss tuesday nights and wednesday games.
5-how fun it is to play with girls that you have really come to know and how fun it is to really know how to play together (especially after 3 years together)
6-it doesn't matter how in shape or old you are, those BUTTERFLIES still make their way into my stomach every wednesday night.
7-mostly how much i will miss my 6 teammates who have become some of my best friends.
everyday i am reminded how much i am going to miss this place.

maizies new do's

so maizies hair is a little long on top which prompted a little experimenting...i know it's a little out of control to put it in a pigtail, but it is so cute to see her in it.

and look at that cute little clip!

me and my girl.

i love her more than words can say..her sweet and spunky self that has just been the best baby ever. i always told myself i could be okay with just boys(and i do love my boys to pieces too), but after having her, i know i was sorely mistaken. she has been such a blessing in my life and i know always will be. love you, maizie.

the lineup

saturday we had a quick little egg hunt for the kids, so the friends came over despite the chilly windy weather.
and in less than one hour, had the egg hunt, ate cake and yummy treats and called it a day.(it really was that cold!)

it took a little convincing to get Lincoln really moving.
it didn't take booker ANY convincing to get him into it.(i think he said he ended up with something like 28 eggs. yikes.)

and maizie...
she enjoyed the egg hunt and weather from inside.

cute and scary

what is red and white and cute and scary all over?

yep, that's right, the boys easter baskets this year. let me preface this first by saying that i only had a picture of bolt to use, not one of alvin!:) (excuses, excuses!)

so bolt turned out cute.and lincoln was thrilled.

alvin was a bit scary and dark. and suprisingly (and luckily) booker still loved it.

Maizie wanted me to take this picture of her while she was sleeping so that she could reassure her new cousin, Channing, that sleeping really is where it is at! and...she wanted to give him a big shout out and welcome him to this crazy world! Although he has only been here for a short 2 weeks, and had more craziness than most people have in a lifetime, Maizie wanted you to know, Channing, that life will ONLY get better! She can't wait for the playing and fun that will for sure ensue when the two of you get together! WE LOVE YOU, Channing and can't wait to hold your cute little self and kiss those cute little cheeks. But for now, sleep on and keep being a champ!

Lincoln came down from quiet time today looking a little thick. Okay, he looked HUGE! I asked him what he was doing with all of his shirts on..."I just want to wear them all," he said. So I took a picture as we took off each one of them tonight before bed..and there were a few more than I thought!

7 to be exact...and yes, he does have 'I am crazy!' written on his stomach..and where does all of the craziness start in our family....

you are right. with our sweet little booker!

Last night we gave Maizie her first taste of apple juice. Let's just say that she really loved much so that at 12:30 am, she was still going strong on a sugar high. Take a look..(well, mostly this is for her grandparents and aunts and uncles!):)

Today I will remember:

1. what a sweet blessing she is in my life...(and what a really good nap looks like!)

2. being 2 is not easy, neither is being a mother to one. so today i will remember patience, patience, patience, and to kiss those cheeks (silly grin and all).
3. how sweet this little ball of energy is...and how much i have loved answering all of his "what does _____ mean?" questions this week.

4. how completely happy he makes me.

5. just how lucky i am..i really can give my life a thumbs up.

I think everyone knows of Booker's coat obsession. The only question is....

WILL IT PASS ON? ahhhhhh!
