finally it was halloween.:)

do not get me wrong, i love halloween. like love it, remember this and this. ahhh, the memories.

well, for some reason, halloween kind of dragged on and on and on this year. after 3 parties, one trunk or treat and one trick or treat night, i am ready to bring on november and all it holds! i did have so much fun though, watching my sweet little munchkins running around as a pig, a firefighter and pharoah. i am sure we are not done dressing up as them!

here we are at party #3..

lincoln would NOT stop for me.

booker in a marshmallow eating contest.

and here they are in all their glory:

booker as pharoah..when i asked him why he wanted to be pharoah he simply replied," well, mom, he is the leader of egypt and i think it would be great to be the leader of egypt too.":)

and little lincoln as a firefighter..he has been so excited to be one.

happy halloween 2009!

a halloween solution.

Maizie's costume is so cute. Like I cannot even write just how cute it is. But it is. BUT, she will not wear her cute little pig hat unless it is cold, we are outside, and the wind is blowing....

as evidenced here in this photo.
So this is the solution I came up with.
She is still wearing pig ears, and they are cute..
and everyday she wears it someone asks me what she far we have a sheep (are sheep pink?) and a cat (do cats have a squiggly tail), AND she's wearing hooves, for heaven's sake.
a pretty cute pig, if you ask me!:)

a choir of singing ghosts.

a choir of singing ghosts just ended up at our house after a night of making fondant, rolling it out and cutting the perfect holes out..
the boys couldn't keep their eyes off of them all night,
and they were devoured quickly at a cake walk last night, but of course they first sang a loud...
happy halloween!

lincolns limits

Lincoln is soo strange.

The other night our home teacher came over for a visit with his pet snake...(yuck.) Lincoln was the only one excited about this and promptly went over to pick it up and have him drape around his shoulders.
like i said, he is crazy.
Then the next day, we were cleaning out our pumpkins and Lincoln would not for the life of him, put his arm in the pumpkin. He said it was too gross.
(this picture is not be fooled.):)
So let me get this right:
It all sounds a little backwards to me.

he passed.

Not only is he a graduate of an incredible law school,
yeeeehaw. i couldn't be prouder of him...there is some sort of weird "walking on clouds, so glad we don't have to do that again, so proud that he passed it on the first time, screaming for joy" feeling that i am feeling right now. and yes, when he told us, booker and i just started for a long period of time. (i underestimated just how much booker understood the importance of this test!) lincoln just ran for beej's legs to give them a hug, and maizie cried because of the loud screaming. IT. WAS. PERFECT. love you beej, we are so proud of you.

sick and wrong.

Some people wonder why I don't eat meat. And that is a whole post for another day, but for today....(and i have no qualms with meat, cooking with it, etc...) these pictures make me sick.

Hi, do you want to come over for dinner for a little bbq?

Yes, we are taking everything in our fridge and putting it on a bun and calling it dinner..

oh yeah, and then killing everything on our street for your meal..
and to finish off...
this would be quite the treat at a baby shower, huh!

(all images taken from thisiswhyyou'

wow...there are quite some creations on this should definitely look at it, if nothing else so you don't feel quite so bad about what you are feeding your family tonight! ha!

the dilemma

Do you see how much hair Maizie has sprouted as of late?
So what do I do?
and yes, Jess, this is for you....
do i do the George Washington?
the large sprout on top
both at the same time...
or neither?!:)
when i showed beej the above hairdo he simply said, "ohhh, what did you do to MY baby?!"

good genes.

she DEFINITELY gets her good looks from him....
but her hair DEFINITELY comes from me!:)
(this nose scrunching, eye squinting cheesy smile is quite possibly the fastest way ever to get a smile on my face.)
